Notable cases:

Financial matters

Marta was instructed by a Wife in high net worth financial proceedings with holiday properties located in south of France, Tenerife and Portugal. Parties’ main asset, the former matrimonial home in the UK was valued at around 1.2m. The case was particularly complex as it involved the Husband hiding and disposing of several shares and investments, as well as having control of most of the parties’ finances. With serious allegations of conduct intertwined, Marta was able to achieve the best outcome for the Wife who reached a 58% split and remained in the former matrimonial home with the children.

International Divorce

Marta assisted a vulnerable client, a victim of domestic violence whose husband following the abuse fled to Algeria. Client was unaware of his exact bearings and could not contact family members in Algeria to assist as she feared the implications following cultural differences. Marta was not only able to locate and serve the Husband using local process servers but also continued with the proceedings  despite Husband ignoring the petition.

Children Act matters

Marta successfully challenged a negative Cafcass report, recommending against a Mother’s relocation application to Poland. The court having put measures in place ensuring contact is promoted, agreed that the child can relocate to Poland with her Mother.
