Have you been a victim of a physical attack and sustained injuries as a result?
Get in touch with our specialist UK personal injury solicitors straight away to discuss your claim. Call us on 0330 107 0107 and we will take care of you.
If the attack wasn’t your fault, you may be entitled to make a claim for compensation through the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA) Scheme.
What is the CICA Scheme
The Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority is a government organisation that provides compensation for blameless victims of violent crime throughout the UK. The CICA pays out awards arranging from £1,000 to £500,000 depending on the severity of your injuries.
The effects of criminal injury can be very serious, with many victims suffering lasting effects. If you, a friend or a family member has suffered as a result of a violent crime, contact our multi-cultural injury lawyers today.
Our UK based specialist team has vast experience of dealing with cases of this type and will ensure that they secure the maximum compensation possible for your injuries.
Requirements for claiming compensation under the CICA Scheme
In order to qualify for an award under the Criminal Injuries Compensation (CICA) Scheme you must meet the following criteria:
- The incident must have been reported to the Police within 48 hours or as soon as reasonably possible.
- Your injuries are serious enough to meet the minimum award of £1000 – we can assess this for you in our initial discussion
- The incident must have happened within the last two years
- The incident must have occurred in England or Wales
- You must have no unspent criminal convictions other than driving offences
It is good to note that you can still make a successful claim for criminal injuries compensation even if the offender (the person that attacked you) is not identified, caught or convicted.
Our criminal injuries compensation solicitors will work with you and the CICA to achieve an appropriate compensation award for your injuries and losses. Your case will always be dealt with professionally and with understanding by a skilled multi-cultural lawyer in the UK.
Nothing to pay if we’re not successful
There’s nothing for you to pay upfront, and you won’t have to pay any legal fees if your claim isn’t successful.
If successful, part of your compensation will be paid to us to cover our fees. This cost will be a percentage of the compensation awarded to you at the end of your case. This percentage is a usual and standard charge throughout the legal industry.
