Dora graduated from the Faculty of Law at Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca in 2013 and later pursued master’s courses in civil law at the same faculty.

She passed the Bucharest Bar immediately after graduation and began practicing as a trainee lawyer. From 2016, she practiced as a fully qualified lawyer with the Cluj Bar, building extensive experience in family and litigation.

Dora ran her own law office in Cluj-Napoca while simultaneously working as a lawyer at the Legal Resources Centre in Bucharest and as a legal researcher at the Faculty of Social Work and Sociology at Babeș-Bolyai University.

She participated in conferences and TV broadcasts, wrote articles, and contributed to recommendations for changes in practice, public policy, and legislation, particularly in the area of access to justice for vulnerable groups, orphans, and people with mental disabilities in state care.

Dora relocated to the UK and, after successfully completing the SRA’s Qualified Lawyers Transfer Scheme exams, qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales in 2022.

Before joining IMD Solicitors, Dora worked at Hallett & Co Solicitors, one of the oldest law firms in Kent, and at Wildcat Law, a barrister-led Legal 500 “Firm to Watch”, and she assisted Romanian, British and other international clients across a variety of legal matters.

Notable cases:

Successfully secured an EU Settlement Scheme Family Permit for a wife after two previous refusals. Dora rebuilt the case and guided the family in identifying relevant evidence, addressing issues stemming from cultural and procedural differences between Romania and the UK, and ultimately ensured the family could reunite.
Obtained pre-settled status for a young adult after the deadline. Though he initially considered applying independently, Dora identified low chances of success and advised a stronger application as a dependent of his mother. She demonstrated reasonable grounds for delay, enabling him to stay close to his family.
Helped a concerned parent obtain a Forced Marriage Protection Order to prevent a minor from being taken abroad and forced into marriage. Dora clearly presented the cultural context and safeguarding concerns, ensuring protection for the child.
