Dora graduated from the Faculty of Law at Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca in 2013 and later pursued master’s courses in civil law at the same faculty. She passed the Bucharest Bar immediately after graduation and began practising as a trainee lawyer. From 2016, she practised as a fully qualified lawyer with the Cluj Bar, building extensive experience in litigation and family matters.

Dora ran her own law office in Cluj-Napoca while simultaneously working as a lawyer at the Legal Resources Centre in Bucharest and as a legal researcher at the Faculty of Social Work and Sociology at Babeș-Bolyai University. She participated in conferences and TV broadcasts, wrote articles, and contributed to recommendations for changes in practice, public policy and legislation, particularly in the area of access to justice for vulnerable groups, orphans and people with mental disabilities in state care.

Dora relocated to the UK and, after successfully completing the Solicitors Regulation Authority’s Qualified Lawyers Transfer Scheme exams, qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales in 2022. Before joining IMD Solicitors, Dora worked at Hallett & Co Solicitors and Wildcat Law, assisting Romanian, British and other international clients across a variety of legal matters.

Notable cases

Assisted a concerned parent to obtain a Forced Marriage Protection Order to prevent his child from being taken abroad and forced into marriage.

Successfully secured leave to remain for a client under Appendix FM following multiple previous unsuccessful applications made without legal representation. By carefully analysing the client’s immigration history, preparing comprehensive evidence and addressing complex legal and evidential issues, Dora helped secure a positive outcome that enabled the family to remain together in the UK.

Successfully secured an EU Settlement Scheme Family Permit for a wife after two previous refusals. Dora rebuilt the case and guided the family in identifying relevant evidence, ultimately enabling the family to reunite.

Obtained pre-settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme for a dependent child aged over 21 after the relevant application deadline by successfully demonstrating both dependency on his mother and reasonable grounds for the delay in applying.
