IMD Solicitors LLP is delighted to announce the launch of its new fully remote Pro Bono Clinic. This initiative reflects IMD’s core values and strong commitment to supporting the community by improving access to justice and providing accessible legal support to those in need.
Access to justice should not be limited by financial means
At IMD, we believe that access to justice is a fundamental right, not a privilege reserved for those who can afford it. Throughout our daily work, we can see how access to justice can be limited if you do not have sufficient funds to meet the legal costs. The assistance provided in the Pro Bono clinic will allow those in need to start the process and secure their rights.
Our Pro Bono Clinic is designed to remove financial barriers and provide expert legal support to members of our community who need it most. Through short, focused consultations, we aim to offer clear guidance, practical insight, and a better understanding of your legal position and signpost you to third parties if necessary.
This clinic covers the following:
- Family Law
- Criminal Law
- Employment Law (employees only)
- Wills and non-contentious probate
- Debt recovery
How the Clinic Works
To ensure that we can assist as many people as possible and make the best use of our time together, the clinic operates under the following guidelines:
- Each consultation will last no longer than 20 minutes.
- We require your full name, telephone number, email address, and a brief description of your legal matter in advance. If there is any other party in dispute, we will require their name and surname for the purpose of conflict check.
- Please note that we can only provide advice in relation to the law of England and Wales. Please also note that we do not provide representation services on a Pro Bono basis.
- We ask that you check the practice area of each lawyer before booking, to ensure that the most appropriate support is provided on the day.
- You can find profiles of the lawyers available to assist on the right hand side, along with their typical availability in the table below (please note this may vary).
- Once you are ready, please schedule and appointment.
- You will receive the letter of engagement together with your booking confirmation and we invite you to review the same carefully.
You can also review it here: Letter of engagement - Important: we do not provide any written advice or follow-up after the consultation. We will be able to refer you to any relevant services, if necessary, during the appointment.
Important: Making the Most of Your Appointment
We want to ensure that your time with us is efficient and valuable. For this reason, we strongly recommend that you provide as much detail as possible about the issue you are facing, along with any specific questions you may have.
This preparation allows us to focus the consultation on explaining your legal position, highlighting potential challenges, and helping you navigate the complexities of the legal system more effectively.
