Shazia Rana

Shazia Rana is a Senior Associate Solicitor with over 16 years of experience specialising in family and children law. Recognised as a Legal 500 Key Lawyer in 2024 and 2025, she is known for her expertise in complex public and private law children matters, child protection, parental alienation, domestic abuse, adoption, and international family disputes.

Previously a Director and member of a senior management team within an award-recognised law firm, Shazia combines legal excellence with leadership, mentoring, and professional development. She supervises and supports solicitors, helping to develop high-performing legal professionals and maintain exceptional client service standards.

Shazia’s contribution to the legal profession extends beyond practice. She served as a Judge for the LexisNexis Legal Awards 2026 and  contributes to Family Law Week, supporting the publication of weekly legal commentary and developments in family law. She is also a member of Resolution, the Association of Asian Women Lawyers, and the Society of Asian Lawyers.

A passionate advocate for diversity, inclusion, and access to justice, Shazia works with a diverse client base and is fluent in Urdu and Punjabi. She is particularly interested in leadership, organisational development, and shaping the future of professional services through innovation and inclusive leadership.

Shazia also provides support to her local charity , contributing ideas to raise fund raising events.

Outside of work, Shazia is kept very busy with her three children and husband. Shazia enjoys baking regularly contributing for the Macmillan coffee mornings. She also enjoys travelling, pottery classes and going to the theatres.
