Marjha Golding-Evans

Marjha Golding-Evans is a Partner in IMD’s Family Law team with almost 20 years of dedicated family law experience. She advises high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs, business owners, professionals, farming families and landowners on complex family and financial matters, with particular expertise in cases involving businesses, trusts, inherited wealth, agricultural assets, landed estates and substantial property portfolios.

Marjha specialises in complex financial remedy proceedings and wealth protection, including pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements and cohabitation arrangements. Her work frequently involves circumstances where personal, family and commercial interests intersect, requiring careful analysis of business structures, trusts, pensions, property and other significant assets. She also has experience of complex jurisdictional disputes, including acting in the reported case of A v B [2025] EWFC 377 (B).

A particular strength of Marjha’s practice is her work with farming families, landowners and owners of rural businesses. She understands that farms and landed estates may represent not only significant financial assets, but also operating businesses, family homes, inherited wealth and the legacy of several generations. Her approach considers the wider issues that can arise on relationship breakdown, including business continuity, succession, trust structures and the long-term viability of family enterprises.

Marjha works closely with accountants, business valuation experts, financial advisers, land agents and other specialists where appropriate. She combines detailed technical analysis with a strategic, commercially minded and empathetic approach, taking time to understand what a client ultimately wants to achieve and helping them identify practical solutions that protect both their immediate interests and longer-term position.

Her expertise has been recognised by The Legal 500, where she has been ranked as a Next Generation Partner and described as “a thoughtful, caring and highly skilled advocate”. Her rural-sector experience is further supported by her involvement with the Country Land and Business Association, including its South Wales Committee and Legal, Parliamentary and Property Rights Committee.

Before joining IMD, Marjha was Managing Partner for the South West and Wales at Stowe Family Law, combining responsibility for a substantial regional team with a complex personal caseload. Earlier in her career, she established and led the Family Law department at RDP Law. Her wider professional experience includes writing and speaking on family law, contributing to professional education and engaging with family law reform.

Marjha enjoys spending time with her family and supporting her daughter’s sporting activities, often from the sidelines of a rugby pitch. She has returned to running, enjoys cooking and hosting, travelling and making the most of the countryside.
