Children Matters

Shazia has extensive experience in children matters, including applications for live with orders, specific issue orders and prohibited steps order. She provides clear guidance, always considering the best interest of her clients, especially in urgent situations, including:

  • When a child has not been returned to the primary carer
  • Where there are threats that the child will be removed from their current school/ the jurisdiction
  • When a parent changes a child’s name/ surname without the others consent
  • Where a parent seeks to relocate to another country with the child
  • Where there are concerns that a parent is being abusive towards the child or misusing drugs and or alcohol

Shazia recently represented a client at a final hearing opposing the childrens surname being changed, as the mother had re-married and wanted the children to have her new surname. The Court agreed that it would not be in the childrens best interest to change the surname as this would undermine the link that they have with their father.

Kept me informed the whole step of the way in constant contact with me and in the end got me the best result in. The team was great but must say a special thank you to Shazia Rana who worked for me and with me to get this result thanks again”

“we had a lengthy case in dealing with getting much fairer access for our son to spend time with his children. Throughout this time Shazia Rana handled things brilliantly for us with some astute advice and detailing the best way forward often responding outside her set hours and ensuring things went smoothly in court. We ended up with the Judge giving more access that we had hoped. As a result of Shazia’s guidance, who obviously had years of experience in child related difficult and quite emotional cases. Costs were well laid out ahead of time and there were no surprises which was also very important to us. Highly recommended”

“exceptional service, have recommended before and will again”
