We are proud to announce that the International Comparative Legal Guide – Family Law 2026 has been published and we are contributor to the expert analysis chapter “Responding to International Child Abduction: Legal Pathways and Enforcement Challenges”.

Four members of IMD Solicitors Family team Iwona Durlak, Isabella Giannone, Paula Piquer Ruz & James Legg wrote a chapter for ICLG Family Law 2026.

“International child abduction has become more frequent as families live across borders, creating legal and emotional challenges when a child is taken or kept abroad without the other parent’s consent. The 1980 Hague Convention defines such cases as wrongful removal or retention where custody rights under the child’s habitual residence are breached. These matters are complex due to conflicting jurisdictions, prolonged disputes, and the significant impact on the child’s wellbeing and family relationships.”

The publication ICLG 2026 is live on ICLG.com
